For Wilderness Professionals

90% of Swift River students will successfully complete a therapeutic wilderness program before attending ASR. Maintaining those treatment gains and providing a seamless transition is our priority. We believe this is best accomplished through:

• Multiple points of contact with the wilderness therapist. Initially through admissions for assessment and secondly through our Pathways Orientation Program to download treatment recommendations.
• A three week Orientation period, "Pathways" designed to process their wilderness experience, assess their strengths and weaknesses and prepare for the transition to academic life.
• Ongoing contact with their wilderness therapist whenever possible. The wilderness experience is often a high point and close to the hearts of our students. A call, letter or visit from their wilderness therapist can mean the world to them. We encourage this and will facilitate in all ways possible.
