Mystery Dinner

by Cherie Dame, Residential Supervisor

On Sunday October 18th ASR staff and students presented their first Murder Mystery Dinner! The script was provided by a student's parents, who have hosted many of these events.

Ten very talented students and staff were involved in the production. The rest of the students and staff were able to participate as well by being given clues throughout the performance as to the identity of the suspected murderer.

The cast arrived in costumes that were creative in their design and appropriate to their characters. In a very special dinner setting including candlelight and formal linens, the whole school was treated to a sumptuous dinner prepared our wonderful Sage Dining staff. Our very own hostess, Miss Cherie, provided a particularly appropriate dessert, the very decadent "Death by Chocolate," which proved to be one of the highlights of this special evening.

The performance commenced immediately following dessert, and the suspense and intrigue enthralled the audience. Of course there was plenty of laughter as well, as our cast took on the personas of their respective characters. The best part of the evening is that no one, not even the cast, correctly guessed who the culprit was! It was a great evening, and we will definitely do this again.

Please stay tuned, everyone. Watch for the highlights of next ASR Coffee House, scheduled for November 15. This is another special evening that showcases our students' wonderful talents in song, poetry, and comedy. That will be followed in December by our special Holiday Coffee House where music and merriment will follow the Holiday theme.

Great things are happening at ASR!
