The boy's soccer team was given the privilege of participating in two sessions of indoor soccer this winter/spring. Though cliché, the seasons were quite different, and it was the difference of two worlds. This first session the team was disadvantaged by students on home visits and ineligibility because of restrictions. As a result, the team finished the regular season with a disappointing 1-7-1 record, good enough for 8th place. They were left with a hunger to do better and prove to the outside world that ASR could compete with the public schools and would return to their previous stardom.

The second season started with a dominating 7-1 performance over Amherst Regional. The team played the game they were capable of playing and finished the regular season with a 5-3 record, losing twice to a local club team that competed at a state and regional level. The team earned the 2nd seed entering the playoffs and were set to face a Mahar team they had easily beaten just 2 weeks earlier. It was a tight battled, and every time we scored they would get an equalizer. The game ended tied 4-4, and the teams battled through 5 minutes of overtime with neither team able to score. Unfortunately, we lost in a round of penalty kicks and the season came to a close.

Huge thanks to Mark P for coaching this session and providing the students with an opportunity to play. Bryan W led the team with goals scored during the second session. Beau B paced the team in assists and was second in goals scored. The team was left without a "natural" in goal, but Jeff M and David W-S combined to do an excellent job.
